Visiting the archives

Our archives can be visited by both researchers and the general public. This can take place in two ways.
a.) We give archives pedagogy lessons for school groups. During the “archives pedagogy” lessons, primary school children can familiarize playfully with mediaeval diplomatics (analysis of historical documents) and heraldry, the study of armorial bearings.
b.) Furthermore, if required we provide guided tours of the archives, during which the visitors can familiarize with the functions of the archives, types of the deposited documents and storage conditions. Every age group is welcome to the guided archives tours.

Both the archives pedagogy classes and the guided tours take place by appointment. Unlike the free archival research, visiting the archives is subject to fees. Please, contact our colleagues.
